Silver told me to do his hhomework and write a story with archetypes about how fast food was made, the next day after I was done, he told me it was suppose to be 10 pages, but for a children’s book. This “story is too complicated for children” he said.
The story starts off with, a man and a woman, it is night, there are searchlights in the streets, they are running away, protecting their baby boy. As a team of well equipped men from Fate Conservative Forces, seek them out, the parents take their information installed child to the goal. In an abondoned alley, they hide in a garage and shut the door behind them. Waiting for them are people from their cult, they have their time machine ready, and a device in the childs head is meant to release information for a civilization in the past. They are about to change history, by sending this boy, a soon to be savior, to its mission; they alter reality, they mess with fate itself, their desire for a better present make them focus their efforts on what is already written.
It is the year 18**, a woman has received a package, her task is to get this boy to safety, somewhere where he will not be tracked down by the Fate Conservative Forces, she sends the boy to an orphanage, in a basket, at the door, unregistered.
When the boy is nine years old, his name is now John Wright, he grows normally in the orpahnage. His behavior makes him seem like an eccentric child, and so he has problems getting adopted, he doesnt like to run and play like the other boys, he just observes, he likes to pay attention. Sometimes he stares off into space as if he was unconscious, but in himself, he searches, his body knows there is something inside him being manifested, a glitch that is already spreading through reality, changing fate itself. In the orphanage his attention is caught by a girl his age, darkish blonde hair it almost seems green.
Now he is fourteen, he has a girlfriend, black hair, Sally. Sally, Sally’s brother, Louis and John decide to escape, they run away into the world trying to find new life, they spend their time trying to make a living as musicians, they dont make enough for themselves, but they enjoy their experiences and company, theeir lack of income force them to steal once in a while. One time as they were running away from the authorities he gets caught in a sudden trance, he runs but he does not see where he goes, he crashes into a pole as he is on the ground he is left in awe from his own thoughts, its not anything he has ever thought about before, but they are so clear, innovative, they make so much sense, and they are permanent. He is caught, Sally and Louis run away, he is thrown into jail. In Jail he reflects on his thoughts, what are they? Are they memories? How can he use them? What is he going to do with them, these thoughts are wonderous, but how must he explain them.
His first night in Jail, he looks through the bars of his cell, he rocognizes someone, its her the dark blonde from the orphanage, that face so distinct, he must be imagining this, how does he remember her so well? She runs up to his cell, and unlocks the door, instinctively he runs out with her. As they run, he looks at her, what is she doing there, he wishes he could ask, how does any of this make sense?
As they reach a corner she runs in another direction, he misses that, he chases after her, she runs so fast, “Wait!” he calls out, “who are you?”. He runs after her, but he trips in the dark, another trance. All he sees is lights as the girl disappears into thin air, but he is not astonished by it as much as he is astonished of his thoughts. He wakes up in a dim room, he sees an old man, he is in a wooden cabin. “Ah he is finally awake,” the old man says “I believe you have news to tell us, the whole congregations has been waitng for years for your enlightenment, my name is Herald, well what are you waiting for? Everyone else is dying to hear from you, come come, get up now.” He is confused, “where am I?”. “You are where you belong, follow me”, he guides him down stairs, the walls turn white and the lights are bright, he leads him through halls, on the way, he looks inside rooms, he sees things he has never seen before. As he walks he spots the darkish blonde girl, he stops walking, Herald informs him “Thats Mary, your guardian, she has been keeping an eye on you since the orphanage, she had to leave you suddenly, because her identity has been registered by the FCF she cant stay close to you for long on the outside. Keep walking”. “Whats FCF?” John asks, “Fate Conservation Forces, they dont believe in using our knowledge of time and fate to its advantage, they think not only that it is wrong and unnatural to boost history with future knowledge, but they also think that it is not true growth for humanity and that our advances will only cause the end of the world to come quicker. They have had the upper hand since the flood, but a new era awaits it is the nineteenth century, and we now have the upper hand, ever since the awakening of our Abeo”, John understood nothing from the answer. “Alright here we go” Herald tells him, “look at yourself, you are already dressed up for this, all you need to do is speak your mind.” He leads him to the podium, he stands there dumbfounded in front of the congregation... awkward silence. “Speak” someone in the congregation shouts out, “uuh, I am John” the congregation cheers at his first words, as it quiets down, he doesnt know what else to say, “I was raised in an orphanage until I ran away just two years ago..” “tell us about your enlightenment” someone else yells at him. “Enlightenment?”, “your truly innovating ideas, the knowledgeable material from your time, have you not received any trances?”, “Oh, those, well, uh, I dont really know how to say, uh they are amazing... “
The congretation grows impatient, and uneasy with John’s silence, “there is obviously a problem here, maybe we got the wrong person, calm down we will figure this out...” “summon abeo, summon abeo” the congregation chants. Herald agrees to summon Abeo, the spirit in control of the innovations within fate, for guidance. Herald opens up a book, and chants strange words, the room goes dark, and from the middle of the room a very bright light is formed, now tthe whole congregation chants together, the earthquakes and rumbles, and the back wall of the room is broken through. “Abeo?”, “Its the fate conservatives!” someone yells out.
Everybody scrambles, nets fly out and people are caught. Herald pulls out his staff and shields himself with John as they make their way through the halls, “our response team is already on their way to get rid of these bugs, lets get you out of here”, the lights go out, they pause, there is a boom and flashes, John sees a girl covered in light hovering down, and hears her voice “I saw you with that girl, I was thinking of getting you out of jail myself, until I saw you with your new girlfriend,” “Sally? Whats going on...”, “Infidel! I will wipe you out for how easily you broke my heart.” Sally showers fire on them. They run toward a door to escape her fury, Herald tries to protect him but his shields are failing him. “we have to find somewhere to hide, but we must lose her first”, as they are chased by Sally and her explosions, Mary intercepts. A light so bright in the darkness, John can still distinguish her face, “Run!” Mary yells with a voice loud but understandable. Herald and John lose the fight between Sally and Mary. They are now hiding, in a coffin like box, in an awkward position, but business is being done. The coffin is opened up from the outside, its Louis, “Hey, Bro in law, I heard you were cheating on my sis, I didnt expect you to be into old men. Lol” Louis knocks out herald with a kick to the face, and steals John, as John hesitates, Louis decides he doesnt need him awake, so he knocks him out too. He wakes up in a dark chamber.
As John wakes up, Louis is there in front of him, ready to explain. “Alright John I am going to need you to cooperate with me now,” John realizes he is tied up, Louis continues, “We have know each other practically our whole lives, havent we? There are things me and Sally never told you, you see John, I am in love with Sally, like, more than siblings, you know how it felt for me to see day to day as you held hher hand as I stood behind you two? You see, me and Sally have been appointed by the FCF to take down a person, who came here to help innovate the coming century, we have always kept an eye on you, but resisted to make a move because we werent sure because of your lack of expression. Its you John, FCF is already sure its you, where is your innovation? You have just been stalling all this time, all this time together made my sister fall in love with you, I dont have a chance with her anymore. Well its not like I ever did, since she minds that she is my sister and all. Nothing is well with me, once I am done my assignment is done, I am not going to gain anything, lets just say that I hate where my fate has set me, so I am willing to make a deal with you. You give me your enlightenment, and I will let you live.”
John, responds “Uh, what?”, “dont play dumb with me John, you have been playing for long enough now. John thinks really hard, he has no idea whats going on, but he does what he does to try anything, he speaks the that come to his mind. “Meat, factory, potato...”, “Yes, Yes! What else?” Louis listens excitedly. John continues randomly as it seems to be getting a positive reaction from Louis, he thinks really hard annd says “uh.. potato, tomato, potato, food!, uh food, food here now” John’s hunger was affecting his thinking, “yes, keep going” Louis tells him, “bring me some food quick, Im hungry!”. The door is kicked open. Its Mary coming to rescue, John. She strikes Louis accross the face knocking him out. Mary and the team untie him and get him out of there. As he exits the door of the chamber, when all danger is done with, he receives the enlightenment, his memories of the future are coming to him so beautifully, everything makes sense, everything is clear, and it is all possible, faith is tangible, he knows his mission and he knows his purpose. He speaks his enlightenment, “Airplanes! Take me to the congregation, hold up a meeting, I’ll explain everything, we have to make it all look natural so that we dont get caught. ” As John left to spread his part in enlightenment, Louis was left on the ground of his chamber.
Louis wakes up, the FCF learned of his betrayal and he is left alone, abandoned in the nineteenth century. He does not have any means to go back, he will never see headquarters again, he will never see his sister again. He thinks to himself, at least I have clues to the new innovation. He thinks of the dumb words that John had told him and connects them in every possible way. He spreads ideas about meat factories, and pre-cooked food, and tomato ketchup, he calls his plans for what he calls, “quick food”.
Meanwhile in the 21st century, mom and dad see results from their successful mission, the technology and usefullness of airplanes, John’s mom questions, “and who the heck thought it was a good idea to send someone with the idea as unhealthy and diabolical as fast food? Why werent we informed of this movement?”
